A.D HOLLINSDALE STAKES G2
RACE 7 - 1800m
PRIDE OF JENNI / SHE'S A HUSTLER / BIRDMAN
The Hollinsdale seems the ideal race for PRIDE OF JENNI and this Gold Coast circuit should really suit her free running style. The brilliant PRIDE OF DUBAI mare won the Gr.1 Empire Rose in November, then resumed with a sound 3rd in the All-Aged before being outbobed by BIRDMANin the Australian Cup, but it was still classic JENNI. Couldn't sustain the same speed in the Queen of the Turf at Randwick, weakening somewhat and she had been afforded a month let up to prepare for this trip. Sure to be out there giving it Billy-O for a long way and the following chasers will need to be good.
☆☆☆☆☆
The FREE EAGLE gelding BIRDMAN cruised up to them to take over and win the Gr.2 Blamey (1600m) at Flemington in February before a powerful effort finishing over the top of them to take out the Gr.2 Peter Young (1800m) at Caulfield in March. Nursed along but went flat at the 250m mark in the Gr.1 Australian Cup (2000m) and it was an unusual result for a fit Waller horse. One trial to prepare, although the gelding may hold enough residual fitness to challenge hard after a slight freshen up and we wouldn't be discounting here as likely to be in good nick.
☆☆☆
Typically, only very good horses win the Hollinsdale and HALF YOURS qualifies as an exceptional stayer having won the 2025 Caulfield and Melbourne Cups double. Was ok late resuming in the All-Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick with the step up to the 1800m likely to suit well while on this road trip for Team McEvoy. Can a little slow away, although a fast tempo may suit as a sound 2nd-up performer who did win at Rosehill over this trip 12 months back. Won the Caloundra Cup and Gr.3 Naturalism following that before the ST JEAN gelding wrote himself into the history books. Classy takes him a long way in this.

GOLD COAST GUINEAS G3
RACE 8 - 1200m
PLATINUM PATHENON / BEADMAN / SYLPH
Lisa Latta brings across PLATINUM PANTHEON from Awapuni to Queensland and the HANSETIC gelding presents as a particularly intriguing competitor currently sitting at crazy odds. We believe this runner possesses significant potential, however, it remains uncertain whether the primary focus is on this specific race or if he is being prepared for the Fred Best. Nevertheless, he is a highly intelligent New Zealand-bred horse, arriving here following a strong showing at Te Rapa, where he maintained his pursuit despite running wide throughout the race. Don't discount
☆☆☆☆
The Peter Snowden-trained BEADMAN, a promising SNITZEL colt, is named in honour of the legendary jockey and is well-placed to feature. He is out of an IFFRAAJ mare and China Horse paid a whopping $900,000 for the colt. Began well in the Gr.3 Ken Russell Classic on the Gold Coast last May, then dash away to absolutely destroy them. Sound in the spring before resuming with a win in the Fireball (1100m) at Randwick, then two tough runs facing the breeze in Sydney. Recent trial winner so looks ready to fly.
☆☆☆
SYLPH is anticipated to perform out of her skin going up in trip and is an underrated type with some serious ability. The I AM INVINCIBLE filly recently commenced her campaign over 1000m in the Mick Dittman two weeks prior, where she demonstrated a strong finish from the rear, securing third place behind the impressive AKAYSHA. With improved fitness and ar the extended distance of 1200m, she is expected to position herself more favourably from the gate with Tommy Berry aboard.

KEN RUSSELL MEMORIAL CLASSIC G3
RACE 3 - 1200m
SILKEN SALUTE / ST GOTTHARD / BOOMELLI
The HELLO YOUMZAIN gelding SILKEN SALUTE has commenced his career with a perfect two-for-two record, demonstrating promising potential. His most recent victory occurred three weeks ago at Eagle Farm, where he triumphed over 1400 meters, overcoming an initial disadvantage to secure a decisive win. The return to a 1200m distance is anticipated to be well within his capabilities, and he is expected to exhibit sustained strength through the race's conclusion. Tidy draw so sure to be back early but has the sprint nous to get into the finish.
☆☆☆☆
ST GOTTHARD enters this event following a successful debut performance over the same distance at Warwick Farm. The colt maintained a forward position throughout the race and, despite being put under pressure, demonstrated resilience to secure the victory. This promising individual has already demonstrated proficiency at the 1200m distance, but the SNITZEL colt is also nominated R1 at Gosford and Waller is yet to make a decision as to where he starts. JMac booked so may well come up to Queensland.
☆☆☆
Always beware a Gollan-trained SPIRIT OF BOOM filly, and this one BOOMELLI appears above average having won 3 from 5 in Queensland to begin her career. Won the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm last start and it was a solid effort joining in from the 300m. Won easily on debut last October, before resuming with a hands and heels victory over 1000m at Toowoomba in March. The horse seems to exhibit an abnormal respiratory noise but obviously is highly talented and can run on hard with three weeks between runs.

GOLD COAST BRACELET (L)
RACE 5 - 1800m
SINGLE RED / BELLA WAHINE / NIGHTLINE
SINGLE RED is a class act who has taken on some top three-year-olds this season with form around the brilliant OHOPE WINS and resumed stylishly for Andrew Forsman. Most importantly, the filly had a trial under the belt, so comes across after winning comfortably at Te Rapa over the mile. If push comes to shove then SINGLE RED gets thd nod as the best horse in the field and Grylls will set her up nicely we imagine. He isn't over here for a GC holiday. Could start below evens as the money loads on but a classy customer capable of taking this out.
☆☆☆☆
The Waller-trained BELLA WAHINE continues to improve and by all accounts has been working very well in the lead up to the Bracelet. A daughter of WOOTTON BASSETT, her dam LITTLE SURFER GIRL (Encosta De Lago) was a stunning Stakes winning mare and BELLA was a different horse last start when victorious over 1550m at Kensington. Blinkers went on and it appears Waller has struck the right formula with the three-year-old filly, who will need to step it up but holds a fair amount of potential and will likely appreciate going up even further in trip. Ace gate, McDonald in the saddle - looks the upset horse with natural improvement. Bred to be good.
☆☆☆
The REDWOOD filly NIGHTLINE trained by Tony & Maddysen Sears is anticipated to perform well at 1800m following her recent resumption over a mile in the Princess Stakes two weeks prior. In that race, she demonstrated persistent effort, closing strongly to the finish behind SPICY LU. Won at the 1400m at the Sunny in November, then simply too good over 2100m at Eagle Farm in January before a spell. Trialed up very well and while the Oaks remains a primary objective, her current form clearly presents an appealing prospect. Wide gate here won't make it an easy race to win though.

SILK STOCKING (L)
RACE 4 - 1400m
TOMATO TOASTIE / PIPPIE BEACH / DIRTY DANCING
We have plenty of time for the Gai/Bott trained TOMATO TOASTIE won two of her three starts to begin her career and the TOO DARN HOT filly looks the goods but flopped wirh one run in the spring. Her dam, AL NAIFA (Redoute’s Choice), was a smart juvenile herself and she is closely related to former stable star ENGLISH (Encosta De Lago). Resumed with a tidy 3rd in the PJ Bell (1200m) at Randwick from a wide gate, then not clear path carried wider last start in the Gr.3 James Carr (1400m).
☆☆☆☆
PIPPIE BEACH should score every opportunity jumping from barrier (1) with JMac riding, but the Waller mare may in fact appreciate this hit out but is too good to ignore. The five-year-old MAURICE mare won at Rosehill in August then ran on over 1500m there in January, before gapping them returning to Rosehill over the same trip. Not quick enough coming back in the Aspiration (1600m) but has trialed since and should strip much fitter. A talented mare at her best, its difficult to go past this jockey/trainer combo on any given day.
☆☆☆
DIRTY DANCING is at foolishly long odds, although we like the horse as a solid 2nd-up performer and she is a consistent mare in Queensland, winning here over 1200m with a gun run after a good sprint home for second at Eagle Farm the run prior. Harder in the Tatt's Classic at Doomben before a sixth in the How Now, then spelled until March. Couldn't finish it off resuming in April at the Farm and any give in the track would be a bonus.

AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB TROPHY (L)
RACE 9 - 1200m
HIDDEN WEALTH / OUROBOROS / METALART
HIDDEN WEALTH was withdrawn from the Victory Stakes, opting instead for this event. He recommenced his campaign in the Ascot Handicap, where he demonstrated a strong effort from a forward position, ultimately securing fourth place behind SPICY MARTINI. His inherent class is anticipated to be a significant advantage. The BETTER THAN READY gelding did best late to win the Swiss Ace over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast in November before battling a bit in the Gr.3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Doomben. Possibly was more second up syndrome, as he bounced back well.
☆☆☆☆
OURRBOROS from the Matt Hoysted stable could be good to go down on 53kg after fading late fresh up at Doomben carrying 59kg and the HARRY ANGEL gelding has finished in the top two on nine occasions from 14 starts. Never run on the Goldie, but hot at the distance and lethal on a firm track. Seems to thrive on his home course of Eagle Farm so this will be a testing road trip and a true measure of his character. Maybe only for the brave but we could see a top effort coming from a good yard.
☆☆☆
METALART has tasted black-type success when winning the Gr.3 WJ Healey Stakes at Eagle Farm last June and was very good running 2nd here over 1200m when last seen in January. A quality BETTER THAN READY mare trained by Kelly Schweida, Metalart won over 1100m at Doomben thus time 12 months ago and has been highly consistent sprinter since. May in fact need this run but loves the distance winning 5 from 8 and any rain about would be a bonus.
☆☆
BAT OUT OF HELL
RACE 6 - 1000m
MANOLO BLING / TONKIN / ZOUPERB
The four-year-old GRUNT mare MANOLO BLING is a seriously quick horse on her day and Kelly Schweida will be hopeful a big 2nd-up run is on the cards after taking her over from Melbourne trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman. Refused to lose over 1000m at Pakenham in December, then experienced a spell after joining the Schweida team at Eagle Farm. Drawn near the fence and sure to go for broke early in an attempt to dictate the pace before trying to cling on. Light weight makes these odds all that more enticing.
☆☆☆☆
TONKIN was unbeaten in her first four runs and Anthony Freedman says the mare is only now closing in on becoming a more complete package as she continues to furnish. Overhauled late by PERSIAN SPIRIT over 1100m at Flemington, then unable to catch BEAST MODE over a fast 1000m at Moonee Valley. The BLUE POINT mare then finished 2nd to a smart horse in KERGLUELEN at Rosehill over 1100m, but overraced in the McCarten before a freshen up. Slick jumpout win last month so probably well primed to feature with Tim Clark aboard.
☆☆☆
ZOUPERB is a fine Queensland sprinter who will start at huge overs, but if the speed is breakneck early, the mare could be sharp enough fresh up to charge into the finish from the ace gate. Likes to cause an upset and was good from the bsck ehen 3rd here in December. Really amped it up from June last year, finishing 2nd at the Goldie over 1200m, then won at Ipswich ($17) with the perfect ride/run. Finished third in the next two at the Sunny and Doomben then 2nd late in the year at Eagle Farm.
